Quicktime will play back the native format of the file. Again, I don’t think the 60D actually shoots full frame 1920 x 1080, I could be wrong, but I believe it’s shooting 1440×1080 anamorphic. I can’t find the specs online to confirm

Have you output Canon MXF footage from your timeline before?
One suggestion, and this is old school. Put a blank title over the video and then render it out. Then try to export.

[Chris Lieber] “We have been working on PC/Adobe CS5 Premiere and shot footage on the Canon 60D camera in HD at 1920×1080 resolution. We are having issues exporting as an MOV file and maintaining this resolution. When we manually change the resolution to exported file looks like it is too bunched up…(the only preset we see is to export it as 1920x 12XX) or some resolution close to that.”
That’s because you’re working with anamorphic footage which is most likely 1440×1080 and Premiere Pro is automatically stretching it out to 1920 during playback.
When you export, make sure you have it set to export Square Pixels in the Export dialogue box. That will force the export to maintain the correct aspect resolution.

Looks like you’re running out of RAM space. I’ve seen that on a few systems that run for a long time and have the RAM fill up.
Does it help when you shut down or re-boot the system, clearing out the RAM?

Almost sounds like the older “video protection” that used to be on VHS tapes which would mess with the luminance settings when you tried to copy a “protected” videotape such as a commercial movie.

I’ve never used CS5, we started with 5.5 and now on 6.
What type of sequence are you exporting from?
Have you rendered your entire timeline first? Might try that.
When you play the timeline, the first 8 seconds is definitely in sync, correct? Just making sure it didn’t get knocked out of sync before you did the export.

Ditto to that.
What you WILL find in Premiere Pro NEXT is a MUCH faster system. I’ll be posting my “Top 10 New Features” tomorrow morning on YouTube using the NAB version of Next that was shown in Vegas. Nothing sexy, just a lot of the great little workflow enhancements that will make our lives so much easier. Adobe totally got that we really didn’t need a lot more sexy features, just fix the “little things” that drive us crazy and slow us down.
As Kevin says, make a feature request on your suggestion, though I have to say once we set the first keyframe, Premiere Pro takes care of the rest. Make sure you have the stopwatch enabled when using keyframes.

You would definitely use Prelude for all the organization although you might need something more along the lines of Axle or CatDV depending on how large the library is going to be.
The idea is that you search for the items via the DAM and not Premiere. Then you create a bin of clips that goes into Premiere.
