Those who have been following the Quicktime 7 threads on this forum KNOW that the QT Pro # will not transfer from QT 6 to QT 7 so I’m not sure why you’re so surprised. And you’re getting all bent out of shape over $30? Please, I do cartwheels everytime I upgrade something in my shop for less than $1,000.

I asked for a while to get the simplicity of Media 100’s offline / online process to FCP and I don’t think it will ever happen. Too much money invested in the Mangler (whoops, Media Manager). I mean how much simpler can it be than to capture at low rez, edit your project, then recapture your Sequence at high resolution. I guess that’s too simple for FCP.
Media 100 still has the best offline / online workflow of any NLE out there. It’s a shame others can’t grasp the simplicity of it.

Dude, 10.3.9 is not going anywhere’s near my FCP machines. That OS has cause some really annoying problems with several of my G4’s and my G5’s will never see 10.3.9. I’m going straight to Tiger as soon as my new G5 arrives and will test everything out on that machine before it hits my regular FCP machine.

From what I understand, the CineWave files will play back in your Kona 2 system if you select the Kona 2YUV codec for the Sequence. I’m sure some of the other folks here can confirm that.

With this process? Opening multiple projects at the same time? I’ve never had an issue with clips that are already online having speed effects issue.
Once the clips go off-line EVERY speed effected clip will be completely screwed up. Not sure if this is addressed in FCP 5 but I sure hope so. I had a 3 hour project last year which probably had about 50% of the shots speed effected (car show) and when I redig’d the project, every single speed effected clip ran 200% in reverse. Took over a week to fix all the speed clips.
