There’s no Analog Input on the K2. Analog Ouput on the K2 is limited to Component and unbalanced RCA audio. So if you need any other type of analog I/O, you want to add at least the Io LA to a K2 system.

The length of the photo is determined by your project and what you’re doing with the photo.
Resolution should be 72dpi and a minimum 720×486 frame size.

Deck control is a separate entity than Capture settings so you can set deck control to RS-422 and still capture via Firewire.
[Craig] “We normally capture to an XServe raid, but recently tried capturing to a LaCie Extreme Big Disk, and encountered all these phantom time code breaks you spoke of. I found that capturing to the raid and then transferring to the LaCie solved this problem”
That’s interesting because I’m getting the breaks whether I go to Firewire 800 drives or my Medea FCR2X Fibrechannel array.

You mean after every clip it captures, the machine will rewind to the head? That is pretty strange. Are you using the Panasonic controls settings for machine control? That’s about the only thing I can think of.

I don’t use it as an HD monitor, just for computer / FCP work. I have a Sony PVM20L5/1 that I use for HD and then a consumer HD Plasma screen, 42″ for a larger display. I don’t really have any plans for the Cinema Display to be used for HD right now. If I really want a high quality display, I’ll probably go with a pro plasma display from panasonic at some point.
Switching to the Kona 2 will be the easiest decision you’ll make coming from a CineWave based system.

[pdr] “I have noticed this too, since upgrading to 10.4.1, I have experienced very lengthy delays in all applications for the Open and Save dialogs to appear. I have noticed that it happens only the first time for each application. ie. Save As a second document works fine. “
That’s better than me. I get the delay with every save.
