With the help of the new Io control panel, I’m now using my Kona2 for all my work. BetaSP, D9, Digibeta, HDCam, and analog monitoring – all accessable – all the time!

Thanks AJA, everything is working as advertised!

    Hi Bill

Can you please explain how your workflow is setup and what hardware (decks) are you using. I am in a similar boat where I am trying to setup the IO and Kona2 together for the BetaSP work. How are your input/outs configured with both.
    Thanks
    Sam

Hi Bill or anyone with news,

I have the Kona2 and an IOLA as opposed to the IO. Can I gain the same functionality as IO users?

    Thanks,
    Rich

    rich,

the IO LA does not have SDI out, so you can use it as you always do for SD, but it cannot pass an SDI signal to the kona 2 for uprez, for example. otherwise you can ingest audio all you want viea firewire…

I’d like to know this configuration information too.
And what are the limitations of the Kona 2 card that make the IO advantageous?

    Thanks!

[Becky] “And what are the limitations of the Kona 2 card that make the IO advantageous?”

There’s no Analog Input on the K2. Analog Ouput on the K2 is limited to Component and unbalanced RCA audio. So if you need any other type of analog I/O, you want to add at least the Io LA to a K2 system.
