According to everything I’ve read and seen, yes that exactly what you can do. Use FCE for a capture station and then move the project over to FCP to finish.

I’m using Firefox here and there are no banners on the right side blocking anything. Either out in the Post View, reading invidividual messages or reading a thread.
Also just checked Safari and the banners are sitting at the top and bottom of the thread listing with nothing blocking the text.
running Mac OS 10.4.1 on a laptop, a G5 and a G4.
Without the fine folks sponsoring the Cow you would not have all the free service you receive here. We’d have to go to a sponsorship model which would not be as fun as “free!”

These particular projects had already been imported to FCP 4.5 and then upgraded to FCP 5.0. But so far all is going well and the recaptures in FCP 5.0 are much more accurate than they were in FCP 4.5.

I honestly have not heard about that one. I just installed the 1.1.1 drivers and they went right in.

Hi Wayne, I have never used the DV Matte Pro so I have no idea on the quality. I’m sure someone on this forum has it.

Doubtful. It’s about a $100 – $150k box that’s not exactly portable. You need to find a facility that has one installed like a film to tape transfer facility. We have a fantastic facility here in Atanta called CineFilm which are a great bunch of folks. http://www.cinefilm.com. You can ship your tapes here and have them shipped back to you.

Fast drives. If you have drives that are barely fast enough for the work you’re doing that can cause dropped frames. Fragmented drives can also cause issues. I run the Medea FCR2X (Fibre Channel) for all my HD work here.

Was the camera on before you launched FCP?
Try quitting / restarting FCP with the camera on.
Try selecting another Capture Preset, then switch back to the one you want to capture to.
Ensure there are no other A/V firewire devices connected to your computer.

Have you posted this in the BlackMagic / Decklink forum? I sounds like it’s a Capture Setting issue, but I’m sure the BlackMagic guys will help you figure it out.
