Decompress the video prior to import – Codec: Uncompressed or None. I use AVS Video Converter.

I’m not sure I exactly understand what you are describing.
You outline the text (Type/Create Outlines), and place the outlined text in a layer that is beneath the live text.
I’m not sure what you mean by ‘bubble together’
Are you using strokes on your text? Perhaps you need to Object/Expand, before outlining – or after.
Your cutter may also require to save your AI file to an earlier version. Maybe try saving as an EPS.

    Just a few thoughts.

Are there any transparancies in your file? They can cause issues.
If so, can you recreate these gradients as solids.
Are you using spot colors, like Pantones.
Maybe, try changing your overprint settings in the Print dialogue, under Advanced.
Or, you may need to flatten the gradients prior to export.

    Just some thoughts.

    Hello Yosep,
Did you change the frame rate with ‘Interpret Footage’?
If so, drop your clip in the timeline, change the framerate with Interpret Footage, than pull on the tail of the clip. You will see the duration/length of the clip change.
But, yes, the difference in speed may be acceptable. I’ve done it, when I don’t feel like remapping. 🙂

When you change the frame rate, you are changing the length of time that the material uses. In your case, you are slightly slowing the motion.
Don’t simply Interpret Footage to your desired frame rate, as this will stretch or squeeze the length of the clip.
For a more ‘accurate’ frame rate change I might use something like Twixtor in AE. I think AE7+ has a built in Time Remapping feature. Basically, these will either blend frames for reducing the frame rate, or generate new frames for increasing the frame rate.
It’s possible that their is a time remapping feature in Premiere, but again, I’ve only done it in AE.
Posterize Time can do this, but I think it only duplicates or deletes frames. So there would be an odd cadence to the motion in your clips.

Hard to say.. I assume you’ve tried ‘Do Not Scale’, and set the correct media size in the Print dialogue.?

  • If you have all vectors in the PS file, you shouldn’t need to Live Trace anything. You probably don’t even need to go to AI.
Can’t you just increase the image size of the PS file, and save a TIF/LZW or PDF?

Anyway, to move the info to Illustrator and create a print that looks like what you have on your screen…

    Maybe File/Export/Paths to Illustrator.
Than copy the text objects out of PS and paste into the AI file.

The cropping issue in AI might be the Document Size, File/Document Setup. Check to see if you have View/Show Artboard enabled.

To outline type, select the text and Type/Create Outlines. Do this with a copy of the live-text AI file… _live.ai, _ol.ai

Although I’ve seen good good prints from RGB design files, it’s generally a good idea to design in CMYK.

If you’re using any transparencies, that’s a whole ‘nother issue.

I use ‘Uncompressed’ or ‘Compressor: None: (AVI or MOV).
This requires the least amount of processor power needed for playback, which means easier editing.
You do need a decent amount of drive space, as the files are huge (I think Gimongous is the technical term??).

I haven’t tried any Lossless Compressed codecs, other than using MS Video 1 for classic games which are usually limited to 256 colors, which won’t work for you.
If you find a suitable PP compatible Lossless Intermediate codec for modern video game editing, I’d love to know. 🙂

Although you have the FRAPS codecs installed on your system, Premiere doesn’t like them. You need to use an intermediate codec.
Either decompress, or recompress to a Premiere-friendly lossless codec prior to import.
I use AVS Video Converter to decompress almost everything, including FRAPS.
