    Dear All,

I’ve a basic question, because I am not really sure about this. I did shoot with HD 30fps, but then I am using premiere CS4, I create the HD 25fps… I render it to HD 25fps with matrox compression, and I feel the video is the same. But… just to make sure, is there any actual problem with it, if I downframe it to 25fps?

Give me some actual / real consequences if I did that!?
What in my logical brain rite now is I loose 5fps for every second… is that also correct!?

When you change the frame rate, you are changing the length of time that the material uses. In your case, you are slightly slowing the motion.
Don’t simply Interpret Footage to your desired frame rate, as this will stretch or squeeze the length of the clip.
For a more ‘accurate’ frame rate change I might use something like Twixtor in AE. I think AE7+ has a built in Time Remapping feature. Basically, these will either blend frames for reducing the frame rate, or generate new frames for increasing the frame rate.
It’s possible that their is a time remapping feature in Premiere, but again, I’ve only done it in AE.
Posterize Time can do this, but I think it only duplicates or deletes frames. So there would be an odd cadence to the motion in your clips.

    Just a few thoughts

    Hello Yosep,
Did you change the frame rate with ‘Interpret Footage’?
If so, drop your clip in the timeline, change the framerate with Interpret Footage, than pull on the tail of the clip. You will see the duration/length of the clip change.
But, yes, the difference in speed may be acceptable. I’ve done it, when I don’t feel like remapping. 🙂
