I just read your post again. Another part of your issue is that you’re losing the inner and outer shape. correct?
You could redraw those elements after the trace.
Or, adjust the trace setting, so you don’t lose the object’s structure.
Or, darken or saturate the image in PS, prior to tracing in AI.

There’s probably a better solution than this, but you could nest the sequence (create a new sequence, and drop the original sequence in the timeline). Than, ripple delete in the new sequence.

Select the traced object, than Object/ Expand.
Than, select the Group Selection Tool, drag it over the border of the trace, and delete.

Basically two ways.
You can press ‘M’, to activate the Rectangle Tool, than click on the artboard. A dialogue box will appear, and you can input the dimensions in px (1200 px, etc.).
Or, if you already have a rectangle on the artboard, you can select it and open the Transform window, and enter the W and H dimensions there.

To skew, again, select the object. And in the Transform tab, you’ll notice a little icon of a box made of 9 boxes. Probably selecting any of the 9 anchors will work. Than enter 45 degrees as the Shear angle.

Try Object/ Path/ Outline Stroke, than Shear.
Or, you could Shear a box, put it on top of the path, and use it as a Clipping Mask – Select both objects Object/ Clipping Mask/ Make.

Yes, you can delete your temporary files. You can also delete your Auto-Save files, but I would keep a few of these, if you are still working in the projects.

Check to make sure you exported the audio.
Enable multiplexing.
If you didn’t multiplex, than it’s possible that there’s an audio file, somewhere, that wasn’t added to the burn.
Burn to DVD-RW for testing, assuming your standalone player accepts that medium.

I’ve never used OnLocation, but in Premiere there is an Auto Scene Detect feature that you could use during capture. In theory, this will clip the files to cuts, each time the Record button was pressed. Perhaps OL has a similar feature.?
Otherwise, you would manually set In/Out points for the desired clips during capture. This is what I do.
Don’t rush the capture process. It’s not glamorous, but it’s a very important stage of what can be a very complicated process.
You don’t want to have long files for the Premiere project, you want clips, for editing.
You won’t have to create multiple instances of clips, you can reference any clip as many times as you need to in a NLE! 🙂

As far as what to do with them. Editing them as a music video can be nice. Pick a couple of songs and edit around them. They will help to give you tempo, so you may not have to put as much thought into that.
Generally, hard cuts are good, transitions effects are bad. Although, slow dissolves are nice.
Maybe make a tile grid, and scale down portions of video to run simultaneously in different parts of the grid (after deinterlacing, of course).
Or, slow tracking reduced-size video frames horizontally through the screen…

Oh Man!:( Did you try to install the drive on another computer? I have an external USB drive that my system won’t recognize. It works on Mac and newer PCs, though. The motherboard manufacturer says that I need to install a PCI-USB 2.0 card with a compatible chipset. My onboard USB is 1.1 that is upgraded to 2.0 by software only. It’s crazy.
