I have successfully sheared a line of text 15 degrees from vertical. I need to draw a line extending to the left and flush with the base of the text, and I’d like the tips of the line to be sheared at the same 15 degree angle as the text. I’ve tried the Transform – Shear function that I used for the text, but this had no effect on the ends of the line. I could not find anything in AI Help to tell me how to do this, so could someone suggest how to make this work? Thanks!

Try Object/ Path/ Outline Stroke, than Shear.
Or, you could Shear a box, put it on top of the path, and use it as a Clipping Mask – Select both objects Object/ Clipping Mask/ Make.
