I am using 5.0.2 on a dual proc. G5. I noticed that later in my timeline there are 2 full screen aerial shots….I have the same type of scale and rotaion on them as I do on the stills giving me problems….the difference is that the problem stills are not full screen, they are portrait scans about 540×500. I can’t scale to fit the screen cause I lose detail on the still that I need for the story….It sits over a background layer that I have applied a saphire glow too.
When I scale only there is no problem but when applying the slightest bit of rotation I get the speckles and all kinds of tearing/aliasing along the right edge of my still.
The other shots on the other hand fill the screen and have no problems what so ever. Strange, huh?
I was hoping not to have to go to AE but it looks like I may have to. What about motion? How easy is it to do this in motion, the layering, etc.?
TIA

More info….If I do NOT apply rotation there are no speckles. I am at a loss…….

Bogiesan,
replaced image with new one, re-created move, re-rendered, and it happens again…Always! Now when I apply ONLY scale with no rotation, no speckles!
Mmmmmmmmm…………………….

Hi,
I have recently invested in an FCP system when opening my own little boutique. I have been an Avid editor for almost 10 years and have experience on everything BUT a DS.
I went for the FCP because it was the easiest way for me to get into the HD platform without taking otu a second mortgage on my house. I have been at it for 3 weeks now and have to say that I am pretty happy with my investment.
I am currently cutting a 1 hour doc for Discovery and am starting an HD project right after this one is done.
It has taken only a little adjusting to the way that FCP is set-up and operates but in the end it is just an editor. To date my workflow has not required me to get into Shake or motion or any of the other programs packaged with FCP (Shake has to be bought seperately as well as AE)but I have fooled around with them a little and they all seem very powerful. Motion has TONS of pre-builts that are VERY cool and I have spent a little time in Soundtrack pro to sweeten and fix some audio and I like it alot.
I am very happy with my purchase and am not worried that I won’t get clients ’cause I don’t have an Avid.
Hope this helps.
