You should select the Fast Preview at the bottom of your Comp window to be able to see changes in the comp window as you scrub the timeline. The other issues you mentioned are related to this as well.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

AE tracking and Mocha tracking will give you 2d information. For a 3d camera match you need a 3d tracker – Camera Tracker from the Foundry works pretty well in AE. Boujou, SynthEyes and and a few others will do the job as well. SynthEyes has some cool features that enable you to create a clean plate.
As far as replacing a real person with a 3d character, C4D will allow you to import AE camera data.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

If you want the texture to stick to a text that animates as a whole, that may be possible, but to have the texture stick to each letter individually, you would have to animate each letter separately like you suggested.

You could do a test and start a project from scratch in 16 bit to see if it acts the same way- it will help narrow the issue.

Toonit from Red Giant may help you with the look you want, although I think the title sequence you gave as an example involved a lot more than just a plugin.

I’m afraid there’s no push of a button. You can start out by designing the circular elements (in Illustrator for example)at the point where they fill the frame. Make sure they are centered to the frame. Bring them as layers in AE, and experiment with animating the size and rotation, the transfer modes between layers and with feathered masks that reveal the circular elements as they spin in.
This is obviously the short of it, it will take time and finessing to get the effect you desire.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu
