With motion blur taken into consideration and a slight feathered edge I bet a quick animated mask that approximates the shape as suggested should be good enough.

use a custom particle – create a layer that has the pulsating animation and then you can use the random loop to offset the various particles.

Macbook Pro is a great machine, however I switched to PC and never went back since. I used Alienware, Origin and now I have a 3XS and a MSI. Both great machines. However, they are more portable workstations than laptops, at 17 inch screen size and quite heavy to carry around.

Think of it as “L” shapes instead of stripes. This way you can create a series of square pre-comps with the L shapes inside and position them in a zig zag (as seen from the top) and rotate the L shapes within the pre-comps to match the desired design.

Create a second camera – this should show you your 2d changed to 3d layer, together with the first camera and the other layers. You can use this camera to position your missing layer in 3d space and then turn it off or delete it.

It can be done, but with a lot of work. I have replaced logos on moving cloth before with a lot of hours of distorting frame by frame with the Mesh Warp a tracked patch. If you can re-shoot then I would choose that.

On a flat surface the suggested solution would work without any issues, however, if I read correctly your image, you have some drapes in the shot, so the shadow would have to follow the volume of the drapes. One easy way of doing that would be to animate the shadow like suggested as it would be on a flat surface, precompose that and use Free Form V2 or FreeForm Pro on it together with a displacement map (which you will have to paint to match the volume of the drapes) to displace the shadow and have it follow the volume of the drapes.
