I would add a couple of tips:
1- have some black crosses on the white card to help with tracking (4- one in each corner for a corner pin track in Mocha). Even if Mocha should be able to handle the blank white board this can only make it better.2- For framing purposes put a transparent plastic sheet taped over the preview monitor in your shoot and draw with a Sharpie the position of the first person holding the card. This should help keep the card in the same spot – if that’s what you’re after.

If it’s a still shot you just need to position 3d text on it , if it’s a moving shot, track the shot with a camera tracker, solve the camera and then position the text to match the prespective. For the text itself you can use Element 3d or ShapeShifter AE to generate 3d text from a AE text layer.

You can use Free Form V2 or FreeForm Pro to achieve this exact look. You need to create a “Texture” layer with a grid for the wireframe and a displacement map layer to extrude the texture to get the mountain shape. For the texture create a square comp with 2 layers in it, solids. On the top one apply Generate/Grid and on the bottom change the color to what you need for your project. Drag this in your main comp and apply FreeForm or FreeForm Pro to it. Create a second square comp, same size as the first and search Google for elevation maps to get a grayscale image of a terrain/mountain that you can use for your mountain (you can also paint one in PS). Bring the grayscale elevation map in the second square comp and use this in the main comp as a displacement map for Free Form/ FreeForm Pro.

You have to play with the plugin controls to get the right look. If I remember well there are some presets that come with the plugin and a bunch of tutorials you can watch to see how the plugin works.

June 15, 2016 at 7:04 am in reply to: rendering interlaced footage, to output in 1080/50i: adjusment layer flicker on fieldsYou do not need to use pulldown, that’s for converting film to video, from 24fps to 29.97 or 25 fps.
Next, let’s adress a naming convention: I have seen both 25i and 50i used. In my experience both mean the same thing, that is PAL footage at 25 frames per second interlaced, which in turn means 50 fields per second interlaced. There is also a 50 fps, as in frames per second, but I think in your case we are talking about 50i as in 25 frames per second interlaced.
So, once you interpret your footage and use 25 fps (full frames) to do your fx, you need then to render out a 50i clip (fields interlaced) with the right field order. In your case is Upper Field first ( good field order resource: https://www.motionelements.com/blog/workflow/video-field-order-reference-list )
You should not have any issues with Avid then.Interpret footage in AE (once you do that you actually do not need to render out a frames sequence, that was a slip up from my past when I had to do that):

Zaxwerks 3d flag – specialized plugin for flags.
There is also the option of using FreeForm Pro with some expressions from Dan Ebberts to create a flag (free project file on this page):
