    Hi Blue,
    1. As for the transition related issues I would reccomend trying my answer to your compressor problem and see if that in anyway helps fcp.

    2. This is what I suggest for using compressor.

    GO TO:
    1. System Preferences
    2. Open Apple Qmaster
    3. click “Options for selected service”
    4. then choose the number of processing cores you wish your Mac to use.
note: the more you choose will obviously effect the rest of your computer

    5. select “Quick cluster with services”
    6. tick the boxes for bother compressor and rendering
    7. tick the box “Unmanaged services from other computers”
    8. name your cluster
    9. click “Start Sharing”
    10. When you submit your job make sure you choose the cluster of your choice.

So that was just a brief summary for those Mac users with multi core proccesors.

February 4, 2009 at 11:50 am in reply to: Dynamic Playback confusion???

Walter thanks for your fast response. I have fixed it by not matching the clip settings as the timeline. I think it wouldnt let me because of the animation codec i used from After Effects but not entirely sure, now i have the list of options on playback. I also moved it from the internal drive to my external lacie fw800 drive.

    thanks again!

I think if your going to do a degree in the Television/Film world then find out what they are actually TEACHING. I went to three or four film/television schools before I found the one I’m currently at, the reason I chose it was because of how much practical/theory classes there was. Its basically 50/50 which means your not getting swamped with assignments on irrelevant material and putting the theory side of it into practice. I ended up choosing one where I have to catch the train for 2 1/2hrs to and from each day but I know ive got a much better chance of getting a job then staying in the classroom all day. And dont forget that if your at any decent film/television school some are open late so why not stay late after class? play with some lighting plots? play around with cameras? etc. etc.

    Just my Two Cents.

    Hello Fariha,
This is most likely happening because there is not enough handles of either side of the video clip. try trimming the trip and then adding a transition.

Alternatively you could keyframe the opacity from 0-100 or vice versa.

    Hello,

A reason for this could be because there is a timecode break somewhere.

In order to over come this try capturing your footage by going to ‘log and capture’ then ‘capture now’ at the bottom of the window. You will have to capture your footage one clip at a time but it should still work.

    Hi guys,

Just putting this left field idea out there but could it be that the tapes were shot in “long play” not “short play”?
