When i go to log and capture, then i select my edit points and log my clips with names. i click on “capture batch” the camera starts to rewind to the beginning of the clip and does not start to capture. it will fast forward then rewinds back to the beginning and repeats about five times and then an error message will show. Any ideas why this occurs? my only solution is to use “capture now” but i never get to successfully log all my clips and capture them using capture batch

    Hello,

A reason for this could be because there is a timecode break somewhere.

In order to over come this try capturing your footage by going to ‘log and capture’ then ‘capture now’ at the bottom of the window. You will have to capture your footage one clip at a time but it should still work.

Yes, it is getting lost when it rewinds over a discontinuiy in the time code. Try to always record between seven and ten seconds before and after the shots you want, to give the tape deck room to lock-up and cue up. And if you are playing back and reviewing takes in the field while shooting them, you have to be careful re-cuing the camera tape before you roll again. My guess is this is how your time code got disrupted.
