I can’t seem to find where this is listed…

I’m hoping to get more info on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB in the latest iMacs… Can’t see it listed anywhere as being supported for CUDA acceleration in Premiere…

Anybody have news on the card in the new new iMacs (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4GB) being supported for hardward CUDA acceleration in Premiere?

    Proxies? What are proxies? 🙂

    Point well taken!

But I edit raw all the time on my mac pro with Quaddro 4000 off internal drives… Just bump premiere to 1/2 or 1/4 res for the main edit, which at 4k you don’t notice. Really saves time in our workflow.

I really dig the Mercury hardware acceleration… Hoping to get that option at lower price than mac pro.

I’ve never really understood the RAM caching. Sometimes it vanishes without me doing anything. And even more annoying, sometimes it WILL NOT vanish when I DO change something… then when I play back, some frames are rendered right, and some frames play back as if I hadn’t made the change…

For all intents and purposes, let’s say it three shape layers.

Naturally the one on top is the alpha matte for the second.

Why can’t the third assign the track-matted second as it’s track matte? That would be so nice if it did…

There are lots of ways to do the masking I’m after, but because of crazily nested and expressioned elements, they are all a pain! 🙂

But I’ll mess with Set Matte. I’ve never really used that. THANKS DARBY!

I would be great if someone could tell me why AE doesn’t let you do a stacked series of mattes though.

June 14, 2013 at 3:08 am in reply to: Who uses ‘broadcast safe’?

    Hey Walter,

    Love all of your insights!!!

In know this is an ancient thread… but I’m exporting an old project from FCP for broadcast. (These days I’m using other tools for CC, but this lovely project is still in FCP.) I applied the Broadcast Safe and Levels filters as you suggested… But what settings? I can see Broadcast Safe affecting the brights. Does Levels legalize the blacks?

One last question… In the Video Processing tab of sequence settings… I’ll what it does when you select Super Whites, but does that affect legality?

    Thanks so much,

    Tom

June 13, 2013 at 7:56 pm in reply to: expression to CHANGE SIZE OF A SOLID

Hey Darby! Thanks for checking in.

I was able to find another solution, but the reason I needed to change the size of the solid was because I wanted to manipulate the PATH on the solid BEFORE a stroke effect on the solid took place. If you modify scale of the layer, it stretches the stroke itself, altering the weight of the line.

I was trying to use expressions to modify a vector path based on the position of various nulls. But from what I’m understanding, AE doesn’t let you tie things to points on a path. My next best option was to try and manipulate the path based on the size of the solid.
