new iMac 27” Nvidia not supported ?
Posted by Anhtu Vu on August 8, 2013 at 4:27 pmI just bought a new iMac 27 with the Nvidia GTX680 MX 2 GB graphics. This set up is listed as approved for GPU accelerated hardware on the Adobe site. When i enable the GPU accelerated hardware in project setting it says the hardware is not supported ??? any idea ???

August 8, 2013 at 7:19 pmHmmm that is strange. Are you on the current CUDA driver(5.0.61)?
Yes you should not get this warning.

August 8, 2013 at 9:15 pmHi Peter,
I can’t seem to find the Nvidia Driver for Mac on the Nvidia support page, it’s only for PC. Someone also mentioned that Mac people don’t need to install the Nvidia driver as it’s already part of the OS. Is the CUDA driver and Nvidia driver two different drivers ??? Thx

August 9, 2013 at 1:34 amTry to check your Energy settings in System Prefs. There is a box on the top you can uncheck to make sure the iMac uses “high performance” graphics card.

August 9, 2013 at 1:52 amThere’s no such option to uncheck on the iMAc 27 ”…are you sure you’re not talking about the option found on a MBP ??

August 9, 2013 at 1:59 amSorry, you are correct. I did not have my iMac next to me to check and just looked at my MBP thinking the Nvidia option was the same. I had stuttering on my MBP until I unchecked it. Have you repaired permissions? I know it’s brand new and you have only installed PP, but just a chance something got wonky on the install.

August 9, 2013 at 2:46 amIs your playback resolution set to full on the PGM monitor? What type of footage / Codec? Are you using external drive for playback or internal?
