I wouldnt condemn PrP for what really are BM issues. My AJA Kona 3 works just fine sending images to my external monitor when I use AJA sequences. 😀

I could be wrong, but I dont think Prores does anything but 1920 x 1080. If you dont mind reducing your file size you might get better performance. Try one clip and see.

You never know. Its just a good maintenance practice especially after adding or deleting software from your Mac.Usually deleting prefs and the cache will fix things.
Your really need to find the Preview Files folder and delete the preview files as well. More important than the Permissions.

2. Delete any preview files
3. Trash preferences and repair permissionsIf your not familiar with these process, Google and the Manual are your friend. 😀

I would check with the tv stations about their requirements. Never assume anything. You might not have to convert at all. Conversions can mess things up visually depending on how they are down.

If your computer can handle AVCHD, then with Premiere there is not advantage to converting to Prores. Thats more a FCP workflow.
