I’m trying to capture a beta tape with Premiere Pro CS5 but can not get my beta deck online. I am using Premiere version 5.0.4 with an AJA Kona Card – I believe the model is ATI Radeon HD 5770. The device I am trying to capture from is a Sony UVW-1800 Beta-SP deck. I am on a MacPro3,1.

Is anyone aware of compatibility issues with this setup? If not, any suggestions on getting the deck online?

And you’re setup up for Component Analog in w/ Kona?

Walter Biscardi has written about PrPs general weakness when it comes to digitizing off tape. Google around. It might help you out.

Chris – Yes I was set up with Component Analog. I know it was set up correctly because I used FCP to capture from Beta right before to make sure the deck was online, and that worked fine.

Tom – Interesting, I will look into Walter’s writing on this.

    Thank you both!
