You will need to save the files as some other format than Illustrator file (.ai). You may be better off just using Photoshop. You can import the PS files directly, with layers. PS CS also has “new file” templates for video, no need to worry about sizes, but then FCP will import without squishing anyways – without sizing to fit. TC

If your using it in a DV timeline, you may not get smooth gradients. What are your Sequence settings?

You should be able to import the files with no problem. I don’t quite understand how you’re importing a folder. I’d just import all your files into a bin. Make sure the jpg files are RGB though.

Keep in mind that if you upgrade to QT7 Pro, you will need to get a new registration for QT. Plus, I don’t know if QT7 and FCP 4.5 play well together.

Try saving the LT Project, then import that into FCP. Forget about saving a .mov. FCP will import the project itself, then you just render in FCP.

These are greyed out because they are most likely ACC mp4 files. If these are your legal production music files, you will need to convert them to AIFF 48k files. These work best with FCP. If they are music files you downloaded from iTunes Music Store, you’re better off not using them in your production.

If you’re adding blur you will need to either render or do a preview. You won’t be able to see it in Real-Time.

I’ve done this by using the monitor out from my DVCAM DRS-45 deck. Then I just turn off the display. Works well enough for a VHS copy.

I think many broadcasters don’t have an audio processing for their digital signals. Most have them for their analog audio, but just pass the digital audio through. Cable is most likely worse.
