That is why I was inquiring about the file specs as well. Not just the image size, but codec as well. h264 files are very processor intensive to encode/decode.

Might need to provide some of your system specs and footage specs as well.

January 7, 2021 at 4:56 pm in reply to: Best Practice when using 4k footage & exporting 1080pIf you already have a 4k sequence, you could always render a Prores (or high quality codec of choice – not h264) master file at 4k and use that master file to render out your 1080 deliverable. Most everything I do is meant for broadcast at 1080, even though most of what I shoot is 4k. So I use my deliverable size of 1920×1080 for sequence settings. Allowing me to zoom in to areas of footage and crop.

Looks like for now it’s just the presets they give you. I imagine that will update eventually to be able to save presets.
But then, I haven’t tried to look where they might be saved. Might be possible to save your own in the same place. Possibly just an xml file somewhere.

I would go with a new RTX. But finding graphics cards right now will be difficult. There is a shortage on the market. Unless you’re willing to spend 2-4k, those are still available. :/

Another thing you can try if you really need to render it out. I’ve been getting similar errors tied to my graphics card on occasional renders when using the GPU. I’ve found changing the project settings – Video Rendering and Playback – to Software Only will complete a render. Not sure if that is the same issue you are having, but give it a shot. Your render will be considerably longer though. :/ Finding new graphics cards right now is not an easy task…. extreme shortage on the market.

Those “dead pixel killer” layers are only masks? And what are on the other adjustment layers? 5k ProRes4444 has a lot of data to work with (including alpha channel data), so some effects may take longer. You do say “pre-rendered”, are you talking about preview renders in PPro? If so, did you select to use those on export?

LOL! Tell you what, make sure your drives have at least 10% of available space – system drive, media drive, and cache drives. Clear out all your Adobe Cache files – open PPro, not a project, then go to your prefs, media, delete all cache files. And trash your PPro preferences – https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/8236158?page=1
