Not sure why it’s happening. Couple things to try.
Try another keyboard – which if it’s doing it when opening other bins, then I doubt this will help.Try blowing out your preferences.
To restore default preference settings and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.

With your current edit, you will most likely run into issues when you replace footage with the newly transcoded footage. But you can certainly give it a shot.

I don’t know if there’s a shortcut or not. I usually just paste on a track above and trim.

CS5 should handle that audio fine. Might be some weird issue with the file. Def give Handbrake a try. If at least to transcode the audio.

If you open the MOV file in QT, and go to Show Movie Inspector, what details does it give you for the video and audio?
Possible, since it’s older CS, that it doesn’t like the codec – which would be the same with AME. You might try converting the file with Handbrake to h264 file. https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php

Right-click on the keyframe and you can change it to linear.

You had major problems with your new machine after attempting to install the Adobe Developer’s Toolkit. You said after one week you couldn’t get everything back to normal after that. One question. Have you just wiped your drive and reinstalled everything – WITHOUT attempting the Toolkit? Tell me you’ve tried that. Because I’m still guessing you haven’t and there is something with the toolkit install giving you issues. If you’ve already done what was suggested, then we’ll move on. Win10, the GPU, the computer – I doubt those are the issues, unless somewhere in your build you got components that don’t work well together – such as incorrect RAM.

One thought. How about using a monitor, such as TV. Put green or blue in the monitor. I’d place the animal on glass or plexi up off the monitor to help minimize impact on the animal and spill from the green/blue. You might have to work around reflections, but that’s easier than shadows. Definitely key with AE.

This has annoyed the crap out of me. Bob is correct on how to temporarily turn it off. There is no way to permanently turn this off. It will come back the moment you use Lumetri and you’ll have to turn it off again. New sequences will default to on. I’ve made a keyboard shortcut to help make it easier to turn off.
