Is there a way to paste a clip from the clipboard into a gap?
I can’t find the solution, maybe there isn’t one.
I have copied a clip from sequence A and want to fill a gap in the timeline of sequence B. But it paste-inserts — everything gets moved to the right. I just want to fill a gap. I have selected the “empty” space, but it still pastes the whole thing (which is longer than my gap). I don’t want to set in and out points in the source monitor, etc. I just want to put whatever’s in the clipboard into whatever space there is.

I don’t know if there’s a shortcut or not. I usually just paste on a track above and trim.

Thanks — I do too, but sometimes there’s clips above and below, and there’s no “extra” room…

You would have to set an in and out point on the timeline to have the video clip fit to fill. I don’t think there is a short cut method.

In that case you either create a new track or paste at the end of your timeline then trim and move.

Thanks – I also put at the end and trim then move, but I was wondering if there’s some other method that’s more precise and faster. Sounds like there isn’t – oh well!
