I’m wondering if it might have something to do with finding or building all of the cache and conforming files. Could cache files with originals.

I haven’t tried it, but have you thought about using Shared Projects? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MHbGiGL1to

  • Are you sure it’s not on the footage before import? Did you check in a video player? VLC/QuickTime/Media Player? Could be the camera, card or some interference. The importing process really does nothing to the video, other than bring it into the project – it doesn’t change it, unless you’re set up to transcode on import.

Do you have another computer to check the footage? It could be possibly video card. But what I’ve seen when video card is failing, usually shows different than that.

How was this recorded? It seems to me you are going to have to transcode it to something prior to editing in PPro. First, I think you’ll need to use something like Handbrake (or VLC) to get it at a constant frame rate (something like 29.97 or 30 – I don’t know where this is to end up eventually) and convert the audio. I’m not sure that PPro handles the HE audio well. I’ve never had anything show as SBR in AAC audio. I think the Spectral Band Replication is for High Efficiency audio more for web application, not really editing.

    Try Eric’s suggestion first.

And you’re editing mp4 files? Try transcoding those mp4 files to something like ProRes mov. Then re-edit the clip in. Then export.

To add what Oliver said, also would be helpful to know how much hard drive space is left on your media drive AND your cache drive.

If you haven’t done so, I would try saving a copy of your AE project out of the 2021 version, and try re-importing into PPro. Maybe it’s still seeing it as an older version??? I haven’t run into that.

Sounds like you’ve used AE. Why not send that clip to AE through Dynamic Link, do your work on it there. Much easier to do what you want in AE and much more control.

I’m with Eric on this. It sounds like the AE project may have been created on a different machine and you don’t have all the same plugins and fonts loaded on yours. Although, I will say that you may get faster results by just rendering your AE comp from AE as a ProRes file or something and import that movie file into PPro. Dynamic Link is nice in some instances, but can be slower.

Hey! Would you look at that! I’ve got one as well, dated March 5. It’s locked up. I’m not sure what it’s there for. I haven’t been on my work Mac much over the past year and just started getting in more over the last month. I’m on Catalina. You would think if it was Adobe, it would say it or be in the Adobe folder… I’ll probably just leave it, since it’s zero bytes. :/

Does your sequence use square pixels??? If not, choose square pixel aspect on export.

    Did that work?
