audio distortion
I have a mp4 that runs ok on VLC player but when I imported to premiere, the sound plays distorted, but when I trim it in VLC player and then imported back to premiere, it plays good. How to do it without VLC player as the file is quite large and I don’t want to go through this step?

How was this recorded? It seems to me you are going to have to transcode it to something prior to editing in PPro. First, I think you’ll need to use something like Handbrake (or VLC) to get it at a constant frame rate (something like 29.97 or 30 – I don’t know where this is to end up eventually) and convert the audio. I’m not sure that PPro handles the HE audio well. I’ve never had anything show as SBR in AAC audio. I think the Spectral Band Replication is for High Efficiency audio more for web application, not really editing.
