How about saving a project template? Just make your adjustment layers and labels in a new project, and save it. Then just copy that project whenever you make a new one.

I have a project folder with folders for video, audio, graphics, ae and a template project that has a similar bin structure to my folder structure. That way everything is organized so I can locate everything. And I don’t have to re-create them every time. I just have to remember to duplicate the template folder, rename it to my new project name and import everything I need.

Windows? Mac? I would open Creative Cloud. Uninstall Premiere and Reinstall it. Keep your prefs. See if that works. Otherwise, you might try trashing your prefs, but not sure that would do it.

Are you using a LUT for the C300 footage? Did the LUT come across in the upgrade? Have you tried deleting any effects on a piece of footage to see if it is related to an effect?

First step in troubleshooting… shut down computer, wait 30 seconds, start up again. 🙂

  • And not to be a downer on the RAID-5 parade here. RAID-5 is good. It’s better than RAID-0 if you want some safety net. But I will tell you, I’ve had a RAID-5 drive die, and during the rebuild, a second drive died. This has been on more than one occasion with good, quality arrays. RAID-6 is better if you can swing it. Just happened recently with a Buffalo array… which is why it’s good to ALWAYS have a back up plan. I know, easier said than done.

Since you are editing on portable, a smaller RAID-0 G-RAID will give you enough speed to do what you need. Just make sure to have it backed up. Because it will be easy to lose that footage in a drive failure.

Like Tod had said, I also keep my projects and media all together in one location. I usually have several projects going at once, so that keeps everything tidy. Ideally, you would want you cache to go to a separate fast drive from your media. Since you’re editing on a MacBook, I’m not sure you have the drives to do that. :/

This is due to your frame rates and premiere trying to blend frames when converting to a different frame rate. It will be most noticeable between frame rates that really are not compatible. Like trying to go between 25fps and 23.976fps. I doubt you’ll get results that you want. But you can always try editing the original footage into your sequence, then right-click the footage in your sequence and try changing the Time Interpolation to see if you get decent results. Also, you can right-click on the clip in your bin, prior to editing into your sequence, and select Modify / Interpret Footage and change the frame rates of the clips to match your sequence – then edit in.

    Good luck!

I don’t know what the problem may be. But I’ve got one thing you may try. I’ve had some issues with some effects rendering with GPU acceleration on my home PC, never had an issue with my work Mac like this. But try going to the File menu / Project Settings / General. Change your Renderer to Software Only. Try rendering again. It will take longer to render. But see if that helps with your current render.

PPro does have a Sync Settings option. It will save your Preferences, Workspaces, and Keyboard layout to the cloud and then you can retrieve to another computer – all done with your Adobe ID. Details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/sync-settings.html

  • What is your image size and frame rate that was shot? I’m guessing you may need to use proxies or transcode to a more edit friendly codec, such as Prores.
