I’ve just updated my OS and Premiere and now everytime Premiere does an auto save it takes over. Here’s what I mean, If Premiere is running in the background and I am in another program, Premiere will take over the screen when it auto saves. I can be typing a script and all of a sudden I’m no longer in word and Premiere is now being seen. I’ve looked in the preferences and can’t seem to find a way to stop it from doing that. I want auto save, just not having Premiere interrupt what I’m doing. Thoughts?

Windows? Mac? I would open Creative Cloud. Uninstall Premiere and Reinstall it. Keep your prefs. See if that works. Otherwise, you might try trashing your prefs, but not sure that would do it.
