I assume that you have a DVD burner. You are mixing up terms DVD and CD.

InVegas use import from camcorder DVD (even though it is not a camcorder DVD that you are importing from). This will save your files in the normal capture file that you set up in the preferences as wel as place them in the project. You will then be able to remove the DVD from the player and the program will not be looking to the player for the files.

Take a look at pan/crop and track motion.

If you have the Studio version you probably don’t have the option of using envelopes. You could (S)plit the section that you want lowered and use the ‘gain line’ at the top of the track to lower the volume. It will be an abrupt drop and raise though.

Turn on the “auto ripple” by clicking on the icon on the top menu bar. Then when you make an empty space by using split and delete (or whatever method) the gaps will automatically close. However most people find it important to turn it off after they are done as it can create havoc during general editing.

  • As Steve has shown you the easiest way to get the focus effect is to have filmed it that way (Rack focus). A lot of work in post.

Your second question: Grab ahold of the lower edge of the Fx box and expand it down ward to give you back your keyframe timeline.

Just to add to Edwards post, if your cursor goes to that point 3 minutes past what you think should be the end the zoom in on the timeline until you can see what the sliver of an event is and then delete it.

I believe you can go 12x by using a combination of Ctrl stretching and velocity envelope. Thats 1200%

Yes, this will change the video capture app that opens when you open ‘capture’. However it will not bring back the choice window that you originally would see. By removing that window (Always use this choice!) it would seem that you have relagated yourself to the additional clicking necessary to do as Edward has stated. Not really a big deal but I wish I would not have eliminated the window in the first place.

The little box that you are missing states “This method can be cahnged later in the Preferences” but I looked and I can’t find it. I know this has been asked before and answered.
