Probably one of the easiest ways to ‘blur a spot’ is to place acopy of the clip on track 1 & 2 (or 4 & 5) You get the idea, one on top of the other. Then apply gaussian blur to the second one. Then use cookie cutter to ‘open a wuindow’ through the first one so that the spot (sizable with cookie cutter)is blurred. Then use key frames to animate the ‘spot’ as needed.

    Mike,
Thanks for the response, I didn’t even think of that. What I ended up doing was buying a file conversion program and converting it to a .wav. Worked like a champ but cost a little money. Your way would have been cheaper. Thanks.

April 20, 2010 at 4:58 pm in reply to: How do you get a smooth zoom with pan/crop?

    John,
I have been wondering that myself. I have not been able to get to my regular editing PC (an i7 8G box with V9) but have been having to make due with a P4 (single core)2.0 2G and V7 for this project. (But both have multiple 7200 harddrives). I think I will render a small portion of the project and then transfer it to a flash drive and take it to my sons computer (a quad core)and see how it plays there. It will take a couple of days, I’ll report back.
    Thanks.

  • John,
What do you mean by “in a high quality” more specifically?

You have found one of the weaker points to Vegas. The Text Generator. You can do most of the effects that come canned in other programs but it takes a little more work.
