I am trying to burn a DVD in the same high definition as the original video of 1920×1080 60i. So far, DVD Architect Studio 4.5 won’t give me anything better than 720, which doesn’t look anything near as good as the video I started with. I am using Vegas 8 as my editing software.
Is is possible to burn a one hour movie on a standard DVD and get the same 1920×1080 resolution without getting into Blu-Ray discs?
How can I get a hd DVD?

DVD’s are at best 720×480…that is the limit. I know of no way to burn HD video onto a DVD other than as data. There may be some other software that allows you to do this, but it would be very limited in the length of time you can put on it. I am not sure if Nero allows you to do this, older versions did allow you to put DVD video files onto a CD…but I am not sure. To get Bluray quality you need Bluray. Or what I will often do is use another codec like WMV and use their HD format…if the DVD player allows you to play WMV you may be in luck!
