  • speeding up video – only 4 times?

    Hi!
I have just started to use Sony Vegas, and i have a problem:
When i speed up a video clip, tha maximum rate is 4 times faster than the original. Is there a possibility to reach a faster rate? For example in PremierePro i think tha max is 1000.
    Thanks:
    Waszil

1.- apply maximum speed to clip and render to AVI
2.- put your “speedy” AVI on Vegas and apply required speed again …..
3.- re-render to AVI, and so on ….

I believe you can go 12x by using a combination of Ctrl stretching and velocity envelope. Thats 1200%

yes, that is the method i wanted to avoid. It is kind of hacking, and not too flexible…

I used to do the same thing with rendering over and over again. You can hold down the ctrl key while clicking and dragging the right edge of the clip. If you stretch it, it will play slower and shortening will play faster. You will see a saw tooth wave drawn on the clip to indicate that it’s time has been changed. Hope this helps.

    Terry is correct.
To make it even faster, render it, bring it back in again and repeat.
Or buy Veggie ToolKit for a plug-in called Time Bandit which allows speeds much faster than Vegas is capable of.
