I always create multicams when I have video and separately recorded audio.

May 25, 2021 at 8:20 pm in reply to: Issues with off speed ProRes RAW footage in CompressorHi Troy. Can you describe in more detail what you’re starting with (media type, frame rate, etc.), what you’re doing in Compressor and what you’re hoping to end up with? I’m having trouble understanding your question.

Thank you very much for the reply Tim. The connection is via 10GbE through a 10GbE switch to the QNAP. The MacMini was ordered with 10GbE. Also, I mistyped last night, it’s an LTO-7 not an LTO-6.
Imagine replied this morning that maybe the FCPX library contains “reference files or broken links that are causing copy/verification routine heartburn…” and to check the log file when complete to see if there are errors. I would think that if there were broken files/links the library wouldn’t open or FCPX would complain, which is not the case.

A good free one is the series by IzzyVideo. For paid options, I second the recommendation for Ripple Training’s tutorials.

Hi Amanda. You probably have audio from more than one camera enabled. One or more of the angles is a few frames out of sync with the others. You should enable the audio from the audio recorder or camera with the master audio and disable the others.

Do you need to transcode? Usually one only transcodes if FCPX is having a hard time playing the media format or the hard drive can’t keep up, like trying to play a 4K multicam, etc.
Your drive having “errors” is worrisome and might be related to bad FCPX behavior. You haven’t installed any “disk cleaners” like Clean My Mac have you? It’s been known to cause terrible problems with FCPX.

Giovanni, that’s a pretty ancient version of FCPX. I agree with Henrik, if it’s possible to update your MacBook Pro to a later OS you can upgrade FCPX to a later version. I believe MacOS 10.13 would allow you to run FCPX 10.4.6.
If you can’t upgrade, have you tried reseting the preferences? I don’t remember if this works on such an old FCPX version: hold command and option while launching FCPX, click Delete Preferences, then open your library to see if you can Share.
Another thing to try is to create a new Admin user on your MacBook Pro and login as that user and try to Share. It’s possible something got corrupted in your User directory.

Is there a Role that was disabled?

I received a library from a producer that took nearly 20 minutes to open. I thought for sure it was corrupt until it finally opened and I saw all the compounds. Other projects of similar length (~2 hrs) would open in 1-2 minutes.
Did you consider using Project Snapshots for the backup versions?

Bob, since you’re freshly back to FCPX I suggest spending time on a few tutorials. Since FCPX is fundamentally different from other editors in a couple key ways, this will likely save you hours of head scratching and frustration.
A good, free tutorial series is by Izzy Video <https://www.izzyvideo.com/final-cut-pro-x-tutorial/>. Another free series coming from the Avid and Premiere perspectives is the Unauthorized FCPX YouTube channel <https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgFm0z5RkLU2rEd4TTRst_A> Finally, Mark and Steve at RippleTraining do a great job of explaining things quickly and efficiently. Well worth the modest cost IMO.
For you question, what are you trying to achieve when playing and clicking?
