Well the difference is that you can set a different preview resolution for just the RAM preview in the preview panel if you want to work in a higher res in the comp window.

Here’s one: Leave the finessing alone and grade what you can grade. Trying to get a natural effect in a dark/coloured concert situation is nigh impossible.

There is no way you are able to do that because the codec is strictly specced to be squeezed to 720×576 with a 16:9 pixel aspect ratio. The Quicktime version of the codec somehow let’s you input a frame size but it won’t do anything.

I’d personally check that the ventilation vents aren’t clogged. Because if they are the machine can’t cool fast enough and it will start to slow down.

Have you set up your sequences to send audio to those channels?

Do not use H264 in After Effects. If you captured the tapes in a uncompressed or nearly uncompressed format you should use that.

Do you have any options in the map output for- dropdown?

The problem is with Quicktime somehow seeing a crazy framerate. H264 mp4s render correctly and show the correct frame rate in QT player.
