    Hi,

I had some original Betacam in SD PAL 16:9 footage digitised, transcripted and converted to H.264 so that can be used in a new animation production which will be produced at Full HD 1920×1080.

I want to bring this into After Effects and wanted to ask what settings or codecs I need to think about to make sure I can render with best possible output.

The H.264 footage does come with some horizontal lines and wondered what was possible to reduce that? And whether something like running through Instant HD is a good option?

    any thoughts appreciated

    many thanks

    Leo

Do not use H264 in After Effects. If you captured the tapes in a uncompressed or nearly uncompressed format you should use that.
