Well that was quick, thanks, everything answered, or rather confirmed what we already thought. There is a discussion about doing 32GB, nothing decided on that yet

You’re freelance? how many systems do you have? just one? I’d go boxed. I’ve never trouble reinstalling a boxed license on a new system when one dies.

We went volume license a couple of years ago because we have 17 systems, so it makes for much less of a headache keeping track of serial numbers. For one system I’d just buy the box

Doubt it’s the card, we have a handful of system set up exactly the same as yours and we’ve never had a problem with that card

Thanks, I’m looking for a plugin for FCP though. AE or Nuke is my preferred method, but the extra render time will kill us.

Garbage mattes in FCP aren’t an option, they’re too clumsy and take too long.

Don’t know about SD out of FCP, I’m Episode and Dropbox also, sorry.

I am curious why you use Compressor for HD though? I render H264 straight out of FCP and it works fine

OK, i really shouldn’t be replying to this, and this question for some reason is just upsetting or confusing people. But, for the last time.

The HP xw4600 is listed as one of the VERIFIED systems on Blackmagics web site.

    https://www.blackmagic-design.com/support/detail.asp?techID=195

For what it’s worth, we decided to act upon that information.

Obviously the specs for that system have changed and it is no longer shipped with one of the recommended graphics cards.

We’re not trying to lay blame, we’re willing to eat the cost of the system, it was purchased for a demo only. We’ll now go and buy another graphics card, just so we can demo it correctly. Should we have researched that system better, maybe. Likewise, that system should also no longer be listed on Blackmagics web site.

Laying blame on the end user for a mistake like this is unbelievable. I’m sorry I brought it up.
