    Hi Everyone,

I have a project (a documentary film) that is shot on super-16mm film @24fps. It will be transferred to a hard drive for finishing. My question is, if it ends up needing to be output to HDCAM @1080i, should I keep it at 24fps all the way through editing, or should the film be transferred @ 23.98PsF? Or is that what it would be transferred at anyway?

    Thanks in advance!

    what’s the final output(s)?

Non-linear: all the time and nothing but.

If the stuff is real p24, conform it to 23’98.

    Thanks everyone.

I also just wanted to make sure that if the final output was HDCAM 1080i, that the transfer to 23.98 from film shot at true 24fps wouldn’t cause some sort of “jerky” video issues.

    David,
You don’t need to “transfer” nothing.
You must CONFORM. Your p24 clips will be played at 23’976 fps. No rendering, no degradation, impossible any kind of stuttering or jerky playing..
