OK, sorry, maybe i wasn’t clear. Thanks Margus. If you read my first post again, money is not an issue when it comes to graphics cards. I simply came here to ask a question.

I guess a better question would be if Ultrascope is strictly GPU intensive? Then there would be no problem.

Just to put this out there. We have 2 new systems that are snow leopard that do the same thing, the leopard systems behave normally.

I was actually told by customer support that CS3 clean script is still the preffered one o use for CS4, however I actually did use CS4 clean script one of the times.

If you ever have to use a clean script again, run the CS4 one, then the CS3 and you see how much was left behind by CS4 Clean Script

Thanks, should have mentioned I did all that, except for #4. I’ll try that when I have a chance, but all our systems should be identical, I’ll see though, thanks

Craig, thanks, seriously. That actually solves our problem, we’re going to get in touch with our DG account manager and start sending spots through the Chicago office, I wasn’t aware DG was capable of adding this info. I’ve done a lot of hunting the past few days for software and not come up with anything, if you happen to find something I’d love to hear about it. Right now the best solution I’ve found is hardware from Evertz that’s running about $4.5k. Thanks again.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. What’s happening is this.

When we send an HDCam to local stations, they automatically center cut our spots for their SD broadcast. Most stations have an outboard piece of gear that does this. Most of this hardware can detect AFD (active format description) information that can be embedded on an HD tape – I’ve been told on lines 1000 and 1001, but that seems awfully low to me. What this does is automatically switch between center cutting or letterboxing depending on the info embedded. Without it, most stations default to center cut.

I’ve found hardware to do this, but I’d rather have a plugin, if possible, rather than having to purchase more rack mountable equipment. Evertz and AJA both make outboard boxes eg https://www.evertz.com/products/7760AVM2

    Thanks again

Hi, I’ve read that also, but I’ve also been told there may be something out there since that info can be encoded onto a HDCam tape. I’ve found some external devices from Evertz that can do this, but I was hoping to avoid having to go through an external box when laying to tape. I’ll try the compression forum, thanks
