Not sure. You can take a spline primitive, create a border and along with the border begin/end and offset controls, make one “link” of the tread run around the shape. I guess you’d have to create a new track for each one space them all out and then move them around to do an entire bulldozer tread. These links can be extruded, but AFAIK they tend to distort and break up when they go around the rounded corners of the bulldozer tread shape.

I forgot. It’s toggling the “S” and “M” marks on the pageturn track that does it. Man, I wish that were a little more intuitive – shouldn’t those options also be accessible from the Control window?

Yes, you can post an html link to images on whatever hosting service you have. Haven’t done it in some time though, and I forget what the restrictions are, if any.

I always thought it would be a nice feature to have Red be able to generate a spline object based on the alpha of a track – that would save a lot of time tracing objects like people or whatnot that already have been cut out in Photoshop or some other image editing program.

Sorry to reply to my own post, but in case anyone’s reading this a AXP project from v4.5 or later wouldn’t have a problem moving over to MCA, but there are different sets of BCC 3.0 install discs for AXP and MCA.

  • What’s stopping you from simply overwriting the final sequence with the portion of the modified original sequence? It’s not that big of a deal. I’m not sure I’d want to have my original sequence modified from within another one – that’s why you make duplicates and whatnot.

Ditto on the previous post. When you see checkerboard, that’s the area the Avid will key through. Make sure you select “Invert Existing” on MC when importing your movie.

    You mean like this?

I don’t think Red has that capability from what I’ve seen.

Switching to half or quarter resolution while you’re doing basic stuff also helps with operating speed.
