It may be DeCSS encoded which means you would need to rip the DVD to the hard drive. Ripping to the hard drive would be an easier way to work with the footage anyway.

The help files are your friend.
Yellow means no support for multithreaded rendering.
Blue means no support for floating-point processing.I have both yellow and blue marked effects.

You can try EQing and/or adding reverb, or panning to get it to blend in better.

Video FX is where you’ll find the Deform Preset, Compress Vertically.
Drag and drop on the video you want to change. Keyframe to set where, when and how much you want.

It’s probably related to the audio card drivers. Try updating to the latest or go back to a previous version if your on the latest.
Also, check your audio hardware preferences in Audition and change if possible. -
Is there a reason your not using the ASIO drivers from M-Audio. (Probably so you could use the second audio device)I understand that.
Using 2 different types of audio capture devices might be causing timing problems leading to the crash.Some things that may help would be to have more ram memory while using a 64 bit OS. A second hard drive for data only.
I remember hearing that the M-audio Ultra 8 device can be used with a second Ultra 8 to record up to 16 inputs at once. -
Interesting, I just built a new quad core system and was comparing it with a dual core system in encoding times, now I have another test to try. Thanks!
I’d open the task manager and watch the processors and memory marks to see what they are doing while encoding.

If certain parts of the footage is over-saturated you can use the levels control (right click in the timeline)in Video Event FX to alter the gamma along with the start and ending levels for the input and output. An you can keyframe just the parts you want changed. For more info click the Question mark in the Levels effect window.
