Bare feet is OK for sitting down, but if you stand while editing, as many people do, I suggest shoes with arch support of some sort will allow you to work longer.

I suggest that you delete them all and start over. It will save space in the long run anyway. There is no way that I know of to reconnect them.

It could be that the wrong codec is being used by the system. I have seen situations where people needed to delete Premiere Pro, delete every codec on their system, and then reinstall.
I have also seen problems with test when people use the Canopus DVStorm2.

There are cameras, like the Sony HDR-FX1 that can shoot 25fps or 30fps – would that be what you are looking for?
And there are software programs like Canopus Procoder that can make the conversion. It might be easier if you were converting both to 24P, but trying to make 25fps into 30fps will by its very nature, be less than optimum.

The strongest point for Premiere Pro is probably the ability to copy and paste over to After Effects. I don’t know enough about Vegas to make any other comparisons.

Uncompressed files from what? If you are getting video from a MiniDV camera, then the firewire capture is simply a file transfer and is as good as it gets. You can then dowhatever you want with it.
If you mean HDV captured via component outputs live, before it goes to tape, that is a different matter.

Just two? Hmmm. Tough decisions.
1. Better use of HDV material – both native and Cineform. More realtime effects for HDV and the ability to capture to an intermediate codec in two steps, capture then convert.
2. Optimize the Adobe Media Encoder to export HDV material.
Those of us who shoot HDV have gone back to overnight renders and exports.

That requires Multicam software. It is not in Premiere Pro, and wishing will not make it so.
It is not possible to solo a track like that. Perhaps you should go back to Vegas? Premiere Pro is not the right application for every editor’s needs.
