Is there anyway that you can capture uncompressed files in Premiere pro 1.5 ? Do you need a capture card ? and what kind of interface would it have to be ?

    Thanks
    Robert

Uncompressed files from what? If you are getting video from a MiniDV camera, then the firewire capture is simply a file transfer and is as good as it gets. You can then dowhatever you want with it.

If you mean HDV captured via component outputs live, before it goes to tape, that is a different matter.

Yes. Its called Decklink; but that is assuming the original isn’t compressed to start with

    Not quite….
The live component output of the sony Z1/FX1 doesn’t use the camera’s MPEG2 encoder(compressor).

Sorry David, I should have added “when committed to tape etc.”
