At some point you make a copy of the clip and use a garbage matte to isolate the action figure. Then you do it again a little farther along. It is tedious work but it can be done.

Microsoft AVI is not the answer.

Export as a DV-AVI with the proper Pixel Aspect Ratio for 16:9 and you should be able to send it back and forth to the two different programs. DV-AVI is how it comes off the camera in the first place, so that is why both apps can handle it.

If you export it as DV-AVI you will be in good shape. Uncompressed just create a huge file that is really no better quality than the original DV.

If you are just saving it for use in a DVD authoring program, use the DV-AVI setting. It should be fast and run just under 13GB for an hour of video.

To be honest, I have never done more than export each track separately from Premiere Pro and then do all the work in Audition. Then I just bring back a WAV file from Audition into Premiere Pro.

There may be a better way, but I am not up to speed on the subject.

My guess is that most people who are into audio enough to buy such a tool also do their audio editing in Adobe Audition. A video editing application is not the optimum place to edit audio. Audition is the optimum place for PC users to do that.

This is a pretty normal workflow.

Put the main clip into the source window, set the In and Out points, drag it back to the correct bin and rename it. Change the In and Out points again and drag it back to the bin. Rename and keep doing this until the entire clip has been cut into sections and renamed.

Just do not delete the original footage since the clips in the bins are really just pointing to the original footage. If you then use the Project Manager to trim the project, it should create clips with the names used in the bins.

You can export as a series of stills. How short a clip? At either 25 or 30 frames per second, it adds up.

The only change besides having to set the track up to actually see the keyframes is that you use the pen tool to create the nodes for the keyframes. You get used to it so that after a while you don’t even notice the difference.
