I see two possibilities for exporting in avi. “Microsoft dv avi”, or “Microsoft avi”. the “DV avi” takes up much less space, and looks ok…. but avi takes forever. It took an hour and a half for a 3 1\2 minute video, and made it half a gig.

The difference I could see in quality was that regular avi had major interlacing showing up. Would that show up on final DVD? I would like the quality to be as high as possible for later output to DVD. Any info would be appreciated.

If you are just saving it for use in a DVD authoring program, use the DV-AVI setting. It should be fast and run just under 13GB for an hour of video.

Thank you Steven, I fiddled with many different settings, and that seems to be best.
