Thanks David;
That’s kind of what I was thinking, just wanted to see if there were other suggestions.
Thanks again;

What kind of problems are you running into?
Edit to tape is not that tough and the interface is not that detailed.Steve Cohen

On a MAC I’m not sure, but on a PC I have done it several times with out a problem.

Yeah that was the perfect effect.
Like I said I just have to get use to the Boris interface.

We have 4 3.2 TB raids at work and each of them are partitioned into multiple workspaces for different project.
Haven’t had any problems.

Thanks Chris;
Actually FX 9.1 has a 3D shatter that is even better for my purpose.
I didn’t even think of going in there because I’m not real keen on the Boris interface, but I guess it takes getting used to.Thanks

This may not be exactly what you are looking for, but I ran across a video that someone posted on Digital Juice where they had to have frame accurate DVD playback to 3 monitors.
The video and comments can be seen at https://www.digitaljuice.com/dj_showcase/detail.asp?workid=1873.
The creator of the piece said…
“Then there was the playback issue. At first I had planned on using a SONY MAV 550 (a braodcast digital disc recorder used primeraly for slo-mo during sporting events) but this machine it turned out was out of the clients budget.This forced me to turn to a more cost effective solution. Knowing that I needed to be frame acurate I knew that I needed to have DVD players that had black burst and RS232 ports (Pioneer 7400 industrial DVD) to support a GPI trigger that would start them all at exactly the same time and would not drift out of sync buy the end of the program.”
Hope this helps.

Same here.
I’ve been waiting for Walter to finish his DVD tutorial, but no word as of yet.

Or you can do the same thing manually.
Select a clean frame from 1 or 2 frames before or after lay it on top of the bad frame and do a softedge crop around the bad video. then just reposition the good frame as needed.

David;
Very nice for a hobbist. I know some, so called professionals who can’t even do this.
You are correct Noise Industries has this in thier FX FActory Pro Bundle, but there is also a similar 3D template in Motion. If you have Final Cut Studio 2 it is in there under HD Templates called Float.HD.
I’m not sure what it is that you are trying to accomplish, if it is an easier way of doing this effect then above are your options, there may be some other out there that I’m not familar with.
