My guess is that it was built in a 3D program. If you wanted to build it in After Effects it can be done but will take longer. You will have to create a rectangle and check the 3D space check box. Make sure you only have the ouline and not the fill. Then create a line the length as one side of the rectangle. Then using the position and rotation you will have to build a triangle. You can parent all of them to a Null if you want to rotate or move the whole 3D triangle. Hope this made some sense. Best of luck.

Typically when you shoot with a green screen you want it to fill the whole background and then you don’t need to worry about stuff like this. The good news is that you can still make it work. We did a TV with a green screen that was only so big so I needed to do rotoscoping. Check out the spot here:

I’m curious. If the expression works why would you want to do it manually? If it isn’t looking right I think the best place to play with it is in the Graph Editor working on how it eases so it slows down better when it reaches peak hight and then speeds up faster as it reaches the floor.

The link doesn’t seem to work so I can’t watch the video. They could have keyed it and just skipped that part of the video. But if something is shot with out a green screen and they need to cut part of a person out it is called rotoscoping. I did a video where the green screen wasn’t big enough so I had to do a lot of rotoscoping. Take a look at the spot here:

The puppet tool is applied to a layer. If you do the body the tale won’t move with it. So you need to put all of the layers in a group and then add the p tool to it.

I’m not a 100% sure I understand what is going on. Check or uncheck the IK/FK check box with the hand. If you posted a video of the problem it would be helpful.
