In FCP, go to Sequence, Settings and click on the Render Control tab. Set Quality to best.

This is a cool feature about Compressor. When you are in compressor and drag the preset to your video, Compressor realizes that your footage is HD and changes the aspect ratio to the preset. If you go into the Encoder window you will see that the Aspect Ratio is changed into 16×9 (360×360). It works great and looks great.

Steve is right, a broadcast monitor is a must have. But keep in mind, NTSC is the TV standard for the USA and some other counties. People like to jokingly call it “Never The Same Color”. Next time you walk into a electronics store take a look at how all of the TVs look different. Best of luck.

I like to use Compressor. I has a great pre-set. Go to the Settings tab in the bottom left corner and open the Apple, Apple Devices folder. Choose H.264 for iPod video and iPhone 640×480. It works great. Best of luck.

When you set your project to export did you make sure you where set to Millions Colors +? Is there a black matte or something in the background that you forgot to hide?

Not that I’m advocating that everybody drop film for DSLRs, then drop those for iPhones – just thinking about what’s possible when we add more brushes to the jar, more colors to the palette.

Here is a camera that will get us attention on the next big shoot and looks more stylish then any film camera. 🙂 Barbie Video Girl Doll

In all seriousness, in my neck of the woods they are trying to turn news reporters into camera operators and editors. I wonder if we will see news reporters running around with iPhones in the not to far future.
