I have found that in most cases I don’t need best. Best helps when you have text that is not as sharp as it should be. In motion toggle between best and normal and see what you think.
As for how long it takes, that depends on the complexity of your project and your computer. I’ve exported out 7 second segments overnight that took probably an hour or so because they had a lot of stuff in them.

What happens when you export at Normal instead of best? Have you brought the project file straight into FCP and rendered it in FCP?

I need to reduce the number of layers also, otherwise i can do it by Image Masking the layer with a Gradient Solid layer.You can put all of your layers in a group, and add the Image Mask to the group.

Animating text will text like the text in the video will not halt your real time playback. I think you could do the whole thing in one project if you wanted to. To save time you may want to keyframe text in and out of the screen. Then duplicate the text. Move it further down the timeline and then alter the text. A lot of the animations in the video looked the same. If you want to alter the in and out keyframes you can do that as well to make every animation feel different. Hope this helps and best of luck.

There are cameras that come with built in intervalometers but most don’t. I have an intervalometer for my T2i that cost about $40. Plus, it came with free software that can turn my laptop into an intervalometer as well. Stand alone intervalometer don’t cost that much, but they don’t make them for every camera. Hope this helps.

You don’t need a 16×9 and 4:3 iPhone preset. All you need is the default preset. If you drag a 4:3 clip into compressor and then apply the iPhone 640×480 preset it will make the Aspect Ratio 4:3 (640×480). If you drag an HD clip into compressor and then apply the iPhone 640×480 preset to it it will may the Aspect Ratio 16:9 (640 x 360). Compressor will do it all for you. I do this all the time with HD clips and the look fantastic.
