I’ve had this same problem before. It is really strange. I closed out Motion and re-opend Motion and the text loses it’s spacing so you need to select in-beteween the words and hit return again. I hope this solves your problem.

Are these two words in separate layers? Is it one word then you hit return and then typed in the next word?

I would take a look at the text behaviors and see which ones you like. You’ll find some glows in the Highlighter section that can be helpful. In say the Taylor Kitsch section I would duplicate the text and lower the opacity and move it around. There are some fun fade on text type of behaviors that would give it a cool look. Does it have to be the raw uncompressed version of the video or can you compress it much smaller to H.264?

There are lots of great free Motion tutorials here on the COW. As for training, I’m biased and would recommend Creative COWs Moving with Motion training DVD. It has gotten some really great reviews, take a look at the Moving with Motion commercial.
As for free content like Digital Juice, check out the free templates and content that comes with Motion.
As for stuff built in Motion, take a look at these projects I’ve built in Motion. Real World projects built in Motion.

By default the gradients usually don’t extend the full range of custom shapes. To get the gradient to cover your full shape right click on it and choose Edit Gradient. There you gain more control over how the gradient appears.

Delete user preferences
You can resolve many issues by restoring Motion back to its original settings. This will not impact your project files. To reset your Motion user preference settings to their original state, do the following:
In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences—the tilde (~) represents your Home folder.
Drag the “com.apple.motion.plist” file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.Stephen Smith
