The install should have created a directory….
C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\Blackmagic DeckLink\Premiere Support
That contains all of the presets and plugins. Copy all of the *.prm to
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Plug-ins\en_US
Then make a blackmagic Design folder here…
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere Pro 1.5\Settings\en_US\Blackmagic Design
and copy the *.prpreset files that you use to that directory.
Or at least that worked for me.

This was never a DV project, but an 8bit yuv ntsc 4×3 project that included DV clips.
I can reproduce the problem consistently on both systems with a new project and two clips. I created a new 8bit project. I captured an 8 bit clip and a 1394 clip. I put the 8 bit clip down followed by the 1394 and the signal drops or loses sync or something at the cut point. If I reverse the order on the timeline they play fine.

Red render line is gone on DV material!
Still I must set the windows sound to onboard sound by default and toggle use default devices only or it will crash during a long Premiere render. I guess that isn’t a problem now that I know to do it.
Tyan s2895 with NVidia onboard audio.

I really like the Dell 24″ with HDLink. We have two suites set up this way, and a 3rd set up using the AJA HDP and a Dell 24″.
You are right about using the analog inputs. They aren’t great but it isn’t the monitor I would buy for analogue. Its strength is in using the DVI-D input which allows direct pixel mapping with the HDLink. It is incredibly sharp.

I’m tired of going back and forth so I’m staying with 5.2.2b for the moment. The footage plays fine, in fact I thought the red line might be intentional so you can render?
This was reported by someone else earlier with 5.2.1. Can you tell me if it is a known bug, is everyone running in to this or not?

No luck. Our timeline was a ntsc 8 bit yuv and render the work area crashed every time. Downgraded to 5.11 and the renders work fine.

Sorry a serious error has occurred….everytime we try and render the timeline. I’ll try a few things before I downgrade the drivers.
s2895 with 1-AMD 270, 2gig ram, FX6800GT PCI-e, using windows stripe set with NVidia’s onboard SATA controllers.

Still one of our systems won’t install the presets and plugins. I guess it is something wierd with the system. It is an older supermicro P4DCE+ dual 2.4 xeon, 2gig ram, 3ware ide raid, with the SD plus card. I know it doesn’t make the approved system list anyway.
I also updated one of our AMD dualcore 270 (Tyan s2895) and the editor kept crashing out trying to render changes. I’ll have to drive the system tomorrow and see if it is repeatable. If it is I’ll downgrade to 5.1.1 and see if stability improves.
Our other two Tyans I’ve kept at 5.1.1 and they’ve been quite stable.
BTW is there a performance benefit for SD work by using a 64 bit HD card instead of a 32 bit SD? Does it give you any better realtime ability? What about PCI-E vs PCI-X?

Hey I like Matrox products. Digisuites performed well for years for us. But this seems like a “test” aimed directly at Black Magic. I’d like to see the numbers for two properly cabled systems.
If I buy an Axio it will be because of the real time abilities, not the jitter “test”.

Thanks Oscar but it isn’t installing the presets or plugins at all. I have to move them from the Black Magic directory into the repective folders in Preiere’s directory. I have it working.
