October 25, 2005 at 1:58 amI am not to sure but think maybe Quicktime 7, the new audio system drivers for Media player and default sound onto the Decklink is Amazing so I don’t need to use another PCI slot with a soundcard.

October 25, 2005 at 10:19 amHi Luke, hi Matt,
i tried 5.2.2b2 and the biggest issue i had when i moved the long clip in my timeline is gone.
Great..thanks i had this issue sinds 4.8!
Also the issue with the “Flikkering Output” while capturing is history. Now some very little problems: the presets are gone, and when i capturing DV with DV encoder
i have alway the red line above the clip in the timeline and when i make a effekt in the timeline
and i render the effekt, PPro renders all DV clips.I

October 25, 2005 at 12:40 pmhi guys,
i think i have found a bug on the new beta drivers.
installed quicktime 7 and the new beta and all works fine in adobe premiere 1.51
when i go to after effects i want to render a file in a decklink avi codec and it hit start to render. when i change to a other task or app the ae says that a direct show error appears and ae stopp with render. even if i let ae in the front the finished renderfile is broken.
so i went back to 5.1 and qt 6.52 all is fine again.
but it is still called BETA ..:)

October 25, 2005 at 6:47 pmI’m still having the same issues with alpha channels that I reported earlier. No change at all in behavior.

October 25, 2005 at 11:24 pmI re-installed my system and installed these drivers, I then try to install Decklink audio and says the fle is corrupt rtc and in device manager says it can’t loads the drivers etc.
I have to put a cheap sound card into my PCI slot any other slot then install the blackmagic audio drivers and works fine. I can then take out the cheap soundcard, just seems a soundcard has to be present or the drivers for decklink do not add?
Hope this will help any other users with similar problems?

October 26, 2005 at 2:06 amHi Matt
Still one of our systems won’t install the presets and plugins. I guess it is something wierd with the system. It is an older supermicro P4DCE+ dual 2.4 xeon, 2gig ram, 3ware ide raid, with the SD plus card. I know it doesn’t make the approved system list anyway.
I also updated one of our AMD dualcore 270 (Tyan s2895) and the editor kept crashing out trying to render changes. I’ll have to drive the system tomorrow and see if it is repeatable. If it is I’ll downgrade to 5.1.1 and see if stability improves.
Our other two Tyans I’ve kept at 5.1.1 and they’ve been quite stable.
BTW is there a performance benefit for SD work by using a 64 bit HD card instead of a 32 bit SD? Does it give you any better realtime ability? What about PCI-E vs PCI-X?
